Ellen Espenschied Dickinson has been directing choral music since 1989 and has conducted over a dozen performing groups.
She is Director of Music at Norfield Congregational Church where she directs the Sanctuary Choir and the Weston Summer Chorus.
She has directed the Yale Freshman Chorus, a mixed chorus of undergraduate musicians which performs regularly on the Yale Campus and throughout Connecticut. She has taught music appreciation and chorus at the High School in the Community, New Haven. Other past positions include teaching choral conducting at the University of Bridgeport and five seasons as director of the Yale Summer Chorus.
She studied choral conducting at Yale with David Connell; additional coursework was with Marguerite Brooks and Shinik Hahm.
Her repertoire includes motets, madrigals, folk songs, and spirituals, as well as major works with orchestra.
